The whole “Gays in the Military” thing is starting to resurface again. Marine General Peter Pace, Chairman of the Military Joint Chiefs of Staff, has put them in the same sense as adulterers and pretty much said he would not want to serve with either of the two (adulterers or homosexuals). He did not cite any concerns of physical abilities. He said nothing about his belief that homosexuals had delayed reaction times. He said nothing about an adulterer’s possible lack of focus due to his mind being set on sleeping with someone else’s’ wife. His problem was with their immorality.
I am all about morality. I believe in God, I love Jesus, I believe in being nice to people, I give bums money sometimes, and all that good stuff. I believe leading a moral life is an extremely important thing. When it comes to Government, though, I believe in something else. I believe that a Government should be ethical. I believe a Government should be just. I believe a Government should be many things that are characteristics of morality, but it should not be moral. Morality is as much personal as it is Religious and last time I checked the State and Church in Democratic America are supposed to be together as much as Mike Jackson and his Baby Momma.
Honestly, sometimes I feel like I am the last damn Democratic person left in the states. I feel like these guys are spitting on the constitution twice when these sorts of things come up. Firstly using moral standards for Government business and policy is nothing short of combining the Church with the State. Secondly, denying someone’s admittance to anything solely because they like to have sex with people of the same sex is completely ignoring these people’s civil liberties/rights. Gayness hurts no one and no thing. If you don’t believe that homosexuality is right then don’t rub your penis on another mans penis in a fashion to make yourselves feel good. Seriously…… until gayness starts making people turn day glow orange, grow really easy to see bull’s eye like targets on their backs and impairs their ability to aim a weapon I don’t want to hear another word from the Government about their admittance into the military or…..or them being allowed to marry, or whatever these government officials feel the need to waste my tax money on instead of using it to make my trip to filling station less painful.
